We have new neighbors husband and wife. They stay in the house of their old and unmarried niece. Their niece is a teacher in a public school.I am so sad about this old couple. The husband is 92, and his wife is 89. People nearby pity the old man for every morning he drives a trisikad to have something to eat.Though their niece offers them food, but they refuse. They feel ashamed, for them it's too much staying in their niece house for free. What I do not like , which you too , may not like is, these old people have 5 children and none of them allow them to stay. The saddest part is they went to Bohol in the Visayas region to beg their eldest son to let them live with them for they are afraid soon they will die, but their son drove them away like persons they did not know. They were told not to stay and must leave right away. What kind of children are they? They became professionals because of their parents' sweats. Many condemn their children as rude , insensitive and heartless. If they can only see the past how their parents sacrificed for them, they might slapped their own face. When their parents leave them forever, they will surely regret and it will be too late.Karma to these children." Don't do unto others, what you don't want others do unto you." @Daljinder , yeah, they have to realized how they inflicted pain to their parents' heart. their parents cried bitterly after being told by their son to leave because he cannot adopt them, so bad son. He should pay the crime. For me what he did to his parents is more than a crime.

We don't know what had happened in the past but whatever it is, a disciplined and respected human being will never throw away their parents. But you know what, I think the love story of the two are just making it sweeter.

@ilocosboy , you are right friend, when they walked in the beach, this lovely couple hold hands sweetly together. What if one of them passes away, I believe the other one won't anymore be inspired to live.

@ilocosboy You know the guy is so tall and despite old, he is still handsome and his wife is tall too with adorable face. They only eat vegetables, no meat, no coffee, no oily foods, no frying hehehe. I cannot do what they do for all the meals of their lives.

This is so cruel of those kids to not help their elderly parents at least in some way. The niece will be blessed for her kindness to both of them. Yes karma will come back to those kids.

Their niece who offers them food and home will be blessed someday! And the children will regret having treated their parents that way! Someday, their children will do the same to them when they get old. As you said: what comes around, comes around (the law of karma).

@acelawrites, You are right friend, their niece will surely receive God's blessings for being so kind. I pity the old people. This means to say that some children do not care for their parents.

@cacay1 and when the parents were gone, they would realize their mistakes. Hope their conscience can take it.

They should have at least support them financially if they can't take care of them. Sad part of growing old i guess.

@cherriefic,they never care to support even to inquire as to where they are now alive or not.Karma would be to their children who abandoned them, so pitiful old parents.Their children are so cruel enough.

Karma will hit them in the end. At least the parent has done their part and God knows it, but I hope the children will regret and redeem themselves some day.

So sad to hear the old couple's story. It's hard to look after and grow the five children. It's too hard to believe the ignorance from them. They have children and they must have watching this tendency of their parents. Who can say that in future the story not repeats.

@shshiju, yes this story will be repeated in the future for them to know there is karma. This is now the right time for them to pay the kind gratitude of their parents, just imagine 92 and 89, oh, I pity them.

This is terrible. I hope karma gets these ungrateful children too. That is a dreadful way to treat your parents.

That's why remaining single is my best option. Having 10 children is not a guarantee that there would be someone who would take care of us when we get old. I'd rather work hard, earn, have my own house and lot and save so I could afford to buy foods etc and pay a caregiver when time comes. Many people tell me "if you do not want to get married at least have one child so someone will take care of you when you get old". I hate to hear that! I can have my own child anytime I want, for sure no man will refuse but I don't want to have one because I can't even afford to feed myself. My heart melts whenever I see children suffering for hunger. I don't want to have a child for the purpose of having him/her take care of me.
