More Rain Today

I'm hoping we'll get some warmer weather soon. I know many of you are looking forward to autumn and cooler days but of course in the southern hemisphere we're mostly doing the exact opposite.
Today we had some nice sunshine then suddenly it sounded like someone threw a handful of stones on the roof. There was a bit of a lull then suddenly the rain came down as in fistfuls of stones being thrown. The noise on the iron roof was deafening then just as suddenly it all stopped again.
But the type of rain I like to call 'soft' continued for some time. And it's still cold enough for us to enjoy sitting by the fire in the evenings. Roll on Spring.

lol I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the opposite seasons even though I am well aware of it. It is still hot, hot hot, today.

Here in Florida, we're bracing for several days of heavy rains as a tropical system rolls in from the Caribbean. This particular system has been baffling meteorologists, because it was supposed to turn into a hurricane, then it wasn't, then it was gong to be a tropical storm, then it wasn't, and then it was supposed to break apart and dissipate, which it hasn't. And now they are saying it still has the potential to develop into tropical storm. Just bring on the rain and let's get it over with, so we can go on with our lives! LOL

@JudyEv That's what everyone here is saying! Just make up your mind already! lol
The National Hurricane Center has said it's meteorologist and hurricane experts have been getting a lot of angry calls and emails from viewers who are upset with them because they can't decide if the tropical system will be a hurricane or not! It's not the poor meteorologists fault, they are just reporting on the conditions that they see based on the data presented to them!

@moffittjc We always used to sling off at our meteoroligists and our geography teacher would say there was nothing west of us - except Africa - for them to base their predictions on. It's a bit different now with satellites, etc.

Hi! It is morning here but it is dark. All of a sudden it is now raining very hard. My mom was outside. I hope she brought an umbrella with her. I love the rain. It makes me feel relax. I feel like all I want to do today is to sleep, to eat, and to read a book.

The weather department here said we will continue to experience heavy rain until September. Which is a bit odd.

@JudyEv well our world is getting crazier anyway. Read the news that July was the hottest month ever recorded on earth. Let's hope next year won't be worse.

its strange isn't it.... I'm often envious of the people that get snow in winter... as I love the snow... but it doesn't snow in this part of spain ... and you talking of rain... we could do with some of that here at anytime of year... lol ... but I know what you mean... it's nice when the seasons change... for all of us... and enjoying sitting by a fire in the evenings is a pleasure that only lasts for a season...

@JudyEv That was really wise. No one in SoCal can say the same. Our families came for the weather. Bet they didn't know that clear skies means little or no rain. LOL

@ElizabethWallace We have the best of most worlds here. Plenty of sun and warmth and plenty of rain. Just a little bit cold by Australian standards during the winter.

Europe gets very hot in the summer but it`s still better here, Italy gets so hot in the summer l dont know how they manage the heat,been to Spain in the summer,again not fun,it`S so hot it`S hard to eat or breathe, no wonder they have siesta

It did rain heavily in your place from the description. Well, we had some small rainfalls, which helped the temperature to drop down a few degrees and now it is much cooler than before. It is the weather that I like. I hope the cool weather will keep up and in fact it will. In autumn, each rainfall brings down the temperature a little bit. Take care.
