Back To School

United States

Today my grandchildren went back to school and I was thinking of them when they were rushing out to catch the school bus early this morning, This summer just seemed to fly by. I remember the days when I had to get up and go back to school after summer vacation and also when my children were young and we had the first day of school battle to get them out of bed. Luckily all my grandchildren like school and do very well. While they're all doing their thing this morning I'm just sitting here with my coffee, relaxing and enjoying another summer day. Happy Monday to all myLot friends

The kids here went back two weeks ago. Even through school has started, it still feels like summer. Fall is coming. It's just not here yet.

I wish that was the way it was for me. At some point all through my life, my adult married children have all come home with their kids for periods of time. Right now my youngest daughter & her family are living with me so my house is anything but quiet.

It's great when children like school and don't have too many problem. Just the opposite if they find school difficult.

My 15 yr old granddaughters biggest problem this morning was what to wear and of course she was nervous about the first day of school jitters, new teachers, etc

@Marilynda1225 15 year-old girl - what to wear! Of course that is going to be the biggest problem. Do they have school uniforms there? It sounds as though your grand-daughter doesn't.

Good morning, I remember our son used to enjoy school, but he would get a case of the back to school jitters a few days before classes resumed, and sleeping on the night before the first day was always difficult for him. I'm glad that those years are behind us now.

Happy Monday. That is lucky your grandchildren enjoy school. My kids did well, not so sure they liked all the social aspects of it. They were glad to get out and to college. My daughter took the proficiency exam to get out when she was 16, because of the bullying and clique crap that goes on at school. So she got to jr. college early. It all worked out well.I didn't have getting trouble getting them to go, though. It is nice to be out of the daily grind and myLotting and having coffee, isn't it? I love it.

Happy Monday to you! I hated school, maybe it was because I had a house full of people always teaching me.
