I´ll have a difficult day.

Leticia just came and I´m listening to her grumbling because Diego left some soiled dishes in the sink. I will have to take care of that problem too. I talked to Diego yesterday that he should be very respectful towards Leticia, but now I will have to make clear in a sweet way that Diego must be treated as a visitor I have. I know we will have more work, but if Leticia cannot do it with a smile I will tell her to take a vacation while Diego lives at my house. I´m sure many mylotters have helpers and maids. How do you manage in those cases?

I have no helper or maid, I do it myself. I wouldn't expect a guest to help, but if they wanted to I wouldn't object.

Never had one and probsbly never will. There are few people around here who have helpers or maids. Unless they are wealthy or elderly and can't do it on their own.

I used to think that I would be forever young until I got cancer. Now I have to say that I´m 71 years old instead of 71 years young

Good helpers are getting very hard to find in our country, almost all are going abroad for better pay which even well to do families here cannot match.

I've had a cleaner occasionally from time to time but never a maid. I'm sure someone will have some helpful advice.

I used to have a helper once in a while too, but that changed drastically when I started with chemo.

@marguicha Did you need the money for your treatment? Once I stopped work I decided I'd better do my own cleaning. But I'd rather work than clean!

@JudyEv I now need help for a longer time. Most of my treatment was paid by the government and by a health insurance. Although I had to pay a lot, it was a small amount compared to the actual cost of it.

we should as far as possible talk to them nicely. It makes wonders. Chiding them will bring in unnecessary troubles.

Oh, Leticia is a housekeeper? We don't commonly have those here. Although I am thinking of having someone come to clean our cabinets and oven, things like that my mother and I can't get done. I hope your issue can get solved easily.
