Ikipalin is a ritual cut finger commonplace performed by Dani tribe in Papua. The Yakuza criminal organization in Japan also have this tradition where members are required to cut his finger themselves for failing to run a task, however, for the tribe of Dani cutting finger done as a sign of mourn when there are relatives who died. Dani tribe believes misadventures in a family due to the death of one family member can be removed by cutting a finger. This tradition is now rarely interpreted
