AGT Semi Final 1: My 6 Picks

United States

All eleven of the performances last night on America’s Got Talent were top notch. They fell naturally into two separate categories, however. Five of them were pleasant, but pedestrian. I won’t mention them here because they weren't memorable. You might see them again, but it would be in a carnival, high school concert or Amway convention. The other six, however, were pros. I would pay money to see them perform again and again. My favorite was Tape Face. He never disappoints. He is imaginative, creative and always entertaining. Lori Mae Hernandez is edgy and fearless. I expect to see her have a career in stand-up comedy, starting real soon. Jon Dorenbos, the football player turned magician, took too long, but once again did the impossible. His act proves that magic does exist. I have no idea how he is able to do what he does. Malevo, the group of stunning male dancers (who remind me of RiverDance), came up with another gorgeous routine. Too bad the stage lighting was distracting. It was hard to see the dance moves. I hope this is improved when they perform again. I saved the best of last night’s performances for last. I expect to see them in the finals in a couple of weeks. Coincidently, they are both sweet young girls with stunning voices and huge talent. Grace Vander Waal has a one of a kind voice. She plays the ukulele and sings songs of her own creation. All this at twelve. Laura Bretan is only fourteen, but has the full, powerful operatic voice of an angel. Both are superstars. If they don’t have contracts yet, I’m sure that they will before the show’s finale. Will you watch?

At the beginning, some of the acts are rather unprofessional. But by the time they get to the semi-finals, they are all good, although not all worthy of winning. I think in the group they showed last night, there are four or five who could make a good living doing what they did on the show.

Yes, and only a few are lucky enough to make it in their chosen field.

@jstory07 Yes, and are in the finals now (except that the Sinatra fan is as well, guess America likes cheese).
