Steve Adams reports the news the Cleveland Indians have designated for assignment catcher Collin Cogwill on Thursday which is the first day all team in the Major Leagues expand their rosters from 25 to 40 players, Cowgill will be replaced on the Indians 40 man roster by catcher Adam Moore who was promoted from their AAA minor league team the Columbus Clippers. Cowgill had a batting average of .083 playing in nine games for the Indians since during the 2016 baseball season. Since Cowgill spent the majority of the 2016 baseball season with the Columbus Clippers. It is possible that Cowgill will be picked up by another team in the Major Leagues that could use his services as a reserve catcher since he is a pretty good defensive player even though his batting average does not indicate that he is a great productive offensive hitter.

Cowgill started with the Mets then spent time with the Angels.
