Burning Marijuana in the Open

I had seen on television news the burning of confiscated marijuana plants in Northern Philippines. Police Gen. Ronald "Bato" de la Rosa led the burning in an open plaza with all the people and local officials around. It was quite a funny scene to think that some of them were not wearing masks, so they can inhale the smoke. I guess later some of them will get drowsy or they'll be affected by the burning. Can't they do it in an incinerator or in an enclosed area where there are no people around? What do you think?

Just my opinion. You know sometimes, I feel that General Bato is already OA in his actions as seems he is just making personality building out of his present position.

But in fairness to him, he meant business, as can be seen in what he is doing; we are just thankful he is so dedicated to his job.

It's a photo op or publicity stunt which many public officials can't resist in order to gain "pogi" points with the public.

Yes, for PR, or "pogi points," they should had "composted it somewhere or just burn in incinerator.

That does seem a little odd that they would burn it out in the open like that.

every time I hear news like that I always end up laughing. I bet those present went to some sort of food trip after. You can't blame the police general smiling while being interviewed

A good reporter there should make a follow-up on the people there what they felt after witnessing the burning (if they inhaled the smoke).
