Well, though he might not actually mean it, it is really nice to hear him calling "mama". (That's how we call mom in Chinese.) He started to make this sound when he was much younger, but now he is calling "mama" more often, especially when he really wants to call me. So, I just have to stop what I am currently doing and entertain him. It's really cute to hear baby babbling. What do you call your mom?

How sweet it is! You remind me of our son. When he was about six months old. One night he suddenly said "baba“ continuously to my husband and of course it made him so happy. However, after that night, my son didn't speak a word any more. We waited when he was over three years old then he started to speak again. You never know how worried I was at that time

My son's first word was also "mama" but now it's "nanay" for mom. I called my mother Nanay too. But she called her mom, "mommy."
