UPDATE to "We Already Hired Him"

So, as I wrote in an earlier post, the MIL hired a person from the village to mow our 2 acres. He has done it several times in the past, otherwise the hubby disks the weeds down with our tractor and disk. Lately it's been rainy and now the tire on the tractor needs replaced, so he hasn't been able to keep up. Anyway, he mowed it once this year and then the MIL hired him to do her one acre, the hubby was able to disk our half acre (the other half I mow with a push mower.) Well, the "village" Superintendent made two swipes through it and said he had bad allergies. (Now, the times before he never complained that he had any allergies.) Over Labor Day weekend we received a notice in the mail from him, that we had 5 days from the notice to get the weeds down or we would be fined. Now, we are just surviving here, so we really don't have the money and the husband works and we really need a bush hog or a 4 point mower to be put on the back of the tractor, but now we have to get tires for the tractor. Well, I have been out there with the hedge trimmer that we recently got and then mow it after. But we still have an acre of the MILs to do. So last night we took our old car (that he is going to make a trike for me) and we drove circles tromping the weeds down!! Now, none of the weeds are over 12 inches!! When the MIL paid the light bill this Tuesday after Labor Day, she mentioned to him that she hired him to do the job, but he didn't finish. He said he would give us 5 days from Tuesday and he "didn't have to" mow if he didn't want to!! Well, then why has he the times before??? So hopefully we won't get fined. Next year the hubby is going to invest in a high powered riding lawn mower, they have some at Sears that is like rent to buy ~Peace~ photo courtesy of pixabay
If you've read any of my posts, I've mentioned that we (my husband and I and my MIL) have 3 acres of land. I mow, our front half acre and our yard, the MIL...

This sounds terrible...it's your area you should be able to do what you want with it. I wouldn't like to live by certain rules in my own house.

Next time you hire that jerk, make a contract. So that YOU can fine him if he does not do the job.

That is rather unfortunate. When we hire a person to do a work,he should do it.It seems he is an arrogant guy.

WOW!! that sounds like a hassel I hope you don't get fined either. That sounds like what my husband would do is get a riding lawn mower. Hope you get it worked out.
