If you want to be happy, follow your heart. If you want to do what's right, follow your mind. If you want to have both, learn to balance the two. Same goes between love and career. I hope I answered your question.

Your brain is your spiritual heart. It governs your thoughts, emotions, etc. So you can say you follow your mind or your heart. Your heart, physical heart, simply pumps blood. It doesn't think. When it hurts, it's because it's receiving signals from your brain.
