Grinding coconut

Davao, Philippines

Coconut milk is produced by grinding a coconut fruit in a grinding tool that has a steel bar with a sharp saw teeth look alike on its tip. After that we sqeeze the grinded coconut to extract the coconut milk. We used it as a mixture of breadnut fruit to serve as our dish on our dinner last night. It is also used in different dishes just like monggo and eggplant salad and others. Have you guys tried to grind a coconut fruit manually?. :)

Yes, some dishes are tasty with a coconut milk on it. Here in Philippines especially in provinces, people experience grinding a coconut fruit starting at the age of 10 and up. :)

I never tried to grind a coconut meat. But I loved scraping the coconut meat and eat it manually.
