I have a controversial question...

I've had many...who have told me that you can only earn on myLot by having others respond, and comment on our discussions. Plus, if we comment on someone else's...then that will prompt them to come visit us. So far... I agree. However, though not many...I have seen a few members, who have been here quite sometime, who has never put up one post. Yet...there are over 1,000 comments, and responses to their credit, if you look at their profile. When I asked some of those members if they were earning, they all told me yes. Maybe not as much, as those who post, but they do earn. I mean... The number beside our user names show the credits we get for being active. If you add it up...it also includeds the comments, and responses we give too. Now... If those who believe that the only way we can earn, is through what another member does on our posts, then how is it...a few members never do any posts, and still earn? I tried sharing this with someone earlier, and they deleted their comment. That's fine... To each his own. I don't get upset over stuff like that... But again...why do so many members believe that we only get paid, based on what other members do on our discussions, but not the other way around; when clearly there are members who are earning without doing posts and/or starting discussions, for other members to see and/or comment on? It is confusing...

Your definition of post is a bit too narrow, since it only includes a user's started discussions. Everything we write on here--discussions, responses, comments--can be considered a post. So those users are posting, even though they're not starting their own discussions. Interactions with their posts (such as likes and comments) are what determines how valuable they are to the community. Even though they didn't start the discussion, they're receiving interaction on their posts, so they earn.

Thanks you. This has been the best answer I have received as of yet, since I joined myLot. So even though...my word "post" was narrow. I was at least right, believing that my interactions with other members, while I am not posting, does earn me and other members $$$. I really appreciate you explaining this... I now have a clear understanding of it all.

you can see from my activity number that I'm still a newbie, but I do understand from the started that every actions and interactions are worth some pennies. but I've notice this strange patterns : - when people responded to a discussion, mostly they want to responded individually not by commenting on other's respond. That would leave the creator of the discussions is the only one the respondent interacted with. Then people always gives thumb & a mention along with a comment, which is a good thing. So, I thought these patterns are like traditions here, so I just following the line. But, why don't we discuss like any regular discussion in other platform ? there might be an algorithm on that interactions too. - people here are literally ranting about random things, about their days, their obsessions, their feelings, etc. it feels like being in a room with a hundred people talking different things. and honestly me also only responded to a discussion that catches my eyes and interest. There even a feature of 'discussion with no response' under the explore button, and sometimes I feel guilty for no reasons. It seems like these guys, include you and me, were so eager to tell you something but nobody wants to hear. *sorry for the long post

@april_ang - I have never noticed the individual comments like you have. Maybe I need to pay more attention. I only asked the question, because I was getting conflicting answers, even though I thought I understood it to from the beginning.

I think perhaps I comment, so you get paid, you reply so i get paid, and since this is all on your post, so you get paid again? Not sure actually

think you have a satisfactory understanding of how payment takes place but looking more closely at details which might prove to be interesting. those numbers beside the name accumulate and don't reflect each payment period unless you start and stop.

I know they don't reflect each payment. But it does reflect, what you get paid for... I appreciate your input.

I have said this several times. If you start a discussion, if anyone responds , comment, or even like your post you earn little cent. You don't just relax , respond to their comments or responses or like then you make more money. It is not necessary to post. You can make money without posting anything. For instance , when other mylotters post or discuss, if the discussion interests you you can respond, like or comment. You are not the one that started the discussion but you will make money when others see what you write and respond or comment. They ( other mylotters ) help you, then you help them too to make little legit money. Helping one and other on this discussion community is excellent. response to discussion or comment may create another discussion.

How do I earn money exactly? - It's simple... Just participate! Any time you start a discussion, respond to a discussion, or comment in a discussion, you are making a contribution that is eligible for earnings. ( This is the mylot earning plan.) Look at the box that falls down below your earnings.

As i am responding to your discussion now you will make some little money into your mylot acoount which will be later transfer to your PayPal account when you reach payout threshold. So when someone responds on what you post, you get paid, when someone also comments , you also get paid, . respond again and again, comment again and again . You make money by doing all these things.

It doesn't matter who starts discussions or responds to other's discussions. It's all about how you enjoy this site and how much time you have to invest here. Enjoy discussions ...rest would follow you up. Thank you.
