It can be more than holy and it is everlasting. A Friend in need is friend indeed is old saying. There are so many things which you cannot share with your parents, but with friends, you can share and vice versa. There are friendships which started at primary school is growing up even today. They live for each other so much to the envy of their wives.

good friends r hard to come by

well there are some and there are not. there are some which does not last bcoz of incompatibility and there are some which last a lifetime. it really depends to one's sincerity and mutual understanding of each other.
