Do you REALLY love being single?

Happy and Contented Single Man

I usually read in Facebook status that is fun being single. No Boyfriend/Girlfriend, then you'll be having no problem. They are contented without being committed and having a relationship. Somehow I find it irritating. If you really love being single, why post it on social media? Maybe this reminds you that something is really missing in your life. So if you said your happy being single, do you really, honestly mean it?

Yes I love being single....and what would you say about the couples declaring their love for each other on social media? What are they missing?

Well you have point @ms1864. I think they are just sharing their happiness and love to the world. Just like the single people who shares their happiness of being single and carefree. Maybe I should not get irritated after all.

Exactly. Probably about 9x out of 10 those couples are struggling behind closed doors while they try to maintain the perfect couple image in front of everybody.

I'm pretty sure that some people do mean it. Why post it on social media? Maybe as a message to all the people who think you need a match maker, trying to hook you up on blind dates or asking if you're gay because you don't have a girlfriend or boyfriend yet. If you have ever been in a relationship that made you feel suffocated, then being single can feel quite blissful for a while. And yes, relationships do have a lot of nice things to offer, but those things do not appeal to everybody.

@cupkitties If they really mean what do they post on social media so be it. Maybe the true meaning behind their post are their angry with their partners and they have changed their status to single to make their partners mad. What ever the status is, I believe they just want some attention from other people.

I deleted my FB account years ago and I do not post anything on social media. I am single since a few years and I like it. I am free to do whatever I want again. I am not sure about the future, but for the moment, I am happy like this, whatever you think.

Being single, it’s an opportune time, time in life to run with something you’ve always thought of doing and actually do it. You can pick anything your heart desires – a language, a sport, an art. And when you pursue it, you automatically open yourself up to meeting new people you might never have met otherwise.

Well, I'm already married now. Remembering my Single days? Nothing special for me because i have been a home buddy who loves playing games on computer and interacting virtually. Somehow whenever my college friends invite me to an occasion, i must say that i enjoy being the own boss of my own self. Nothing to worry except family members. Hahaha, might be scolded by Dad and Mom that's the only thing that makes me uncomfortable. If you are single you can do things without hesitation. Your hard earned money minus your contribution for the family's welfare are for sure all yours. Do what you want to your money but still don't forget the future.

That's also my attitude when I was still single. I usually go out with friends and spend my hard earned money on going places. I never think about the future on my younger days, I spent my money like there's no tomorrow. That's the perks of being single not until I met my wife. My life has now a direction and I know now how to spent my money wisely. I also learned to save money for my family's future. Gone are the days of being carefree and single.

I'm single because I don't have any reason to have a relationship. Besides, takes a lot of time, and money. Some people just like to post something online, it's the trend to most filipinos these days, It really makes you ANNOY if you look at too much. Me, I just ignore it, some people just wants attention.

@tragicpoet They make a big deal of it because people in relationships make a big deal of it first. Its more about setting the record straight. I think it's a normal reaction to people constantly in your face acting like single=broken=need fixing. Unless of course this same person is on FB ever day posting "love being single" stuff on their wall on the daily.

I believe single is a very basic relationship status on Facebook. If is it a trend I hope they have some reasons on posting it because its flooding my FB wall. I want to tell my friends sometimes, if your really are single, don't make a big deal over it. LOL!
