I have heard about the gas shortages due to some kind of pipe breaking or something to that effect. I am not entirely sure why not ? Well lets just say that I am not a big fan of the news. For many reasons but mostly because you don't ever really get the whole story. Not to mention that most times you don't hear good news its rather depressing. Any how this gas shortage had come to my attention through a friends facebook page. She happened to be checking the news feed when she had seen a post about it. Of course we had to look further into it mostly reading what people had posted. There were a few post saying that gas stations were gouging. There are numbers to call and report them when this is being done. That however wasn't what caught my attention well not as much. Upon further reading of peoples comments I came across some people saying that gas prices should be ten dollars a gallon! Excuse me what?! I understand the reasoning behind the statements. These people of course were not able to get gas due to their near by gas stations being affected by the shortage. Some had to travel farther wait in long lines and pay more. It is frustrating. The comments were discussing how people were hoarding gas and not just taking what they need. 1. If a person feels there is a shortage of something its a natural reaction to try to stockpile as much as possible to ensure your life is as little affected as possible. 2. Who is to say that someone doesn't need a full tank of gas for the week? 3. If you gouge the price and make it ten bucks a gallon people are going to think that we are in a bigger crisis than we really are. 4. Why are people not thinking of working together and car pooling and things like that so that less of us suffer? 5. Some people said that this basically was a problem mostly caused by gas guzzling suv owners and soccer mom's or others who weren't just needing gas for work. So I can see both sides to this argument but I think some of the comments were pretty extreme. So is this affecting you in your area? What are your thoughts or feelings on this? I would like to hear from everyone but please think about what you say and how you say it I would like to keep this friendly. Thanks for reading.

It would be nice if the gas stations out of gas would be helpful and reroute customers to stations they know actually have gas. If people are feeling like they are not a total loss and they have information they will be more calm and hopefully share the info. However what is most likely to happen is that they won't say anything and keep the info to themselves allowing people to worry for no good reason other than the idea of a loss of a sale.
