I'm so happy to see this in my daughters back pack this week. I recieved a newsletter saying that my daughters school has a program called LINK and they would love it if your child would donate part of their lu ch that is still sealed and not going to be eaten during lunch if it can be donated to the LINk food recovery program that the school will being the extra unwanted food to the food pantry. I know my daughter is 5 and there is some times lunch I know she will not eat during her lunch period and it's prefects you fine with me if she wants to give away part of her untouched lunch. I made sure she k ones it's okay and I, sure her teachers will ask her if it's okay. I know it'll go to someone in need,

I think that is such a wondeful idea. It is much better going to somebody in need then to get thrown out.

This is a very novel programme. I think it is the time to introduce this in Indian schools also. Most of the people are eating too much and they may contribute something to the poor. The pity is that it all goes again to the Politicians' houses as it will save their expenditure on cooking and payment to the Chef.

I don't think it's a novelty programes not all schools do this in the US but lots of places in the US collect food for the food panty and lots of people donate it's free to donate to run the food pantry it does coast money which is covered in our Taxes we pay.
