@ChesneyM They are wintering between the end of November and April or May. Depending of the species, they sleep under a heap of wood or they dig deep in the ground.

@ChesneyM There is no risk to see one if it is freezing, they would freeze and die because they are cold blooded. They do not like the cold, you need a very sunny day with more than 10° C during winter to see one, and they are a bit numb, moving not very fast. They sleep with only one eye closed, I mean that they are not hibernating but wintering, so if they think that the weather is good enough to go out of their hiding place to try to catch something to eat, they will do it.

I don't like the heat of summer here in the Philippines , it triggers my hot flushes . But surely , i don't like it so cold also . So , i can understand why you like summer to go back again .
