. On the weekend, I did some gardening and decided to pick some of the oranges. This is the 3rd year that we're getting a lot of fruits from this orange tree.. I usually give some of them away and the rest, I peel , slice into wedges and freeze them for juicing . That way, we have a supply of orange juice all summer..They are the sweetest orange I have tasted I have yet to open that orange pretending to be a lemon.. This is the first time I saw an orange this shape. I can't wait to see what it's look like inside..lol .. I can't decide whether to peel it or to slice it.. If I slice it, should I slice it crosswise or lengthwise ?.. lol what a huge decision to make ..ahahah! Anyway, have you ever seen an orange pretending to be a lemon?..Or are there oranges of different varieties in that shape?.. Bess

I have not seen orange in oblong form. That looks amazing. I would cut it crosswise if I were you.

That is an unusual shape. You're lucky to have an orange tree. I would love to have a plentiful supply of oranges.

If you love orange, you can plant one even in a pot, they grow and will give you fruits within two years ..

@5thHouse If you have it in a pot leave the pot in a patio away from the cold in winter, it might thrive..

@epiffanie I hadn't thought about that, planting in a pot. I assumed that the climate here would be too cold for oranges to grow.

That is a very weird shape for an orange. I guess it's just the way that particular one decided to grow.

@epiffanie it does look like an orange. I wonder if it can give you a tarter flavor. Poor orange, I think it's having an identity crisis.

Oh wow, that's funny. I've never seen something like that. How nice to have citrus trees, we can't grow them here, too cold. I know squash will sometimes get funny looking...

Hahaha! At first I thought it was an orange but just distorted and somehow it has a lemon shape. It's my first time to see a lemon with the same color as an orange. I find it pretty cool though :D

He probably had no space to grow sideways.. I have had sweet lemons grow that way when they are overcrowded in a bunch.

An orange tree? O, how I wish I could also grow an orange tree to bear fruits here in Calgary . . . All we have are two apple trees in our backyard. Oranges (mandarin) are one of my favorite fruits. . avocado, bananas, and grapes are also my favorite. Oranges (even the color is orange) are always on the table at home . . like these in the above photo.

That is one strange orange. It almost looks like some pollen got mixed up on the tree and created a "lemorange" or something.
