Out of Focus

I woke up at three this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep. I finally gave up and got up. Usually when I get up this early I spend some time on my computer. Time to write, uninterrupted, seems to be a rare commodity lately. Rather than use the time, I’ve been fluttering from one thing to another and not accomplishing anything. I can’t seem to focus on anything. I don’t like this feeling. I’m going to put in an hour or two here, and try to get caught up, and then I think I’ll go back to bed. Maybe with another hour or two of sleep I’ll be able to uncross my eyes and see the world clearly again. Do you have days like this?

Although some of us may have days like this, it might be something you should have checked if things don't get better quickly.

It's not a medical issue. I've just had too many things to worry about lately. I just need to prioritize and get a few things done and off my list.

Luckily it doesn't last long. An occasional day like that I can handle, but several in a row drives me crazy.

Yes, and I hate it when that happens. I get into a schedule, where I will just wake around 2 am and work on the site here and then after 45 minutes or so, return to bed until morning. I did that last night and it drives me crazy....nights ARE made for sleeping! I hope that your day goes well today now.

I went back to bed and actually slept. I didn't accomplish much but I was rested. It helped.

I rarely go to bed before 4am, so I don't have that problem. I hope you manage to get some sleep if you go back to bed.

I've had days when I couldn't sleep past a certain time, but it's usually not until seven am or so. I go to bed later, though, and usually want every minute of sleep I can get so when I wake up too early I don't like it. I've had days when I fluttered from one thing to another, but I have so many tasks to do that many times that's the only way I can get anything done. I'd rather get a little done of something than continue to put it off longer. I do think you need more sleep, though.

I need to get back into a routine. That will help. I've never needed a lot of sleep, but I'm not getting enough. I occasionally take a nap, but that usually messes me up. I just need to force myself to go back to sleep.

I have too many days like this....I wake up and can't seem to focus then end up all over the place. Now, on the opposite, it sure is nice to wake up and feel in control.

I know that feeling very well. I have been having a hard time focusing on just about anything. It is not a good feeling. I like when I get into the zone and forget all about time. But that has not been the case for me lately. I am wondering if it could be the weather changes.

Yes, sometimes a really good workout will help me focus. But yes a nap might do the job as well.
