Aside from speaking my native tongue, I find English is the easiest way to learn. Since the construction of sentences are somewhat similar to the first language of my country. The mere fact, it cannot be denied that my country was colonized by Americans. The American soldiers had introduced the English language to Filipinos. That’s made the local people became literate to this language. Another language that I considered easy to learn is Russian. When I traveled to Central Asia, I had initiated to have self-learning it. It wasn’t that difficult since we need to consider the construction of the sentences that resembles the basic grammar pattern: subject-verb agreement. Of course, we have to consider the proper pronunciation of the words. There is only one secret in learning any languages. That is, we need to sharpen our listening skills. Once you had improved this skill, it easy to mimic or imitate the way the local people speak in their own native tongue. I am not a perfect soul but I usually challenge myself in learning different something. In other non-native speakers, it takes a lot of time to improve their English skills due to poor listening skills. I anticipate that there are so many techniques on how to improve one’s skills. Self-determination is one of the keys. If you don’t have the will to do something, then nothing will happen. Photo Credit: pixabay.com

I also agree that English is an easy language to learn. Its written is easy. And its grammar seems to be easier than other language, too. Besides, English is the most popular in the world and therefore many people learn it and therefore it almost becomes to be a global language. However, I don't think Russian is an easy language. Its written can make me dizzy. I traveled to Russia but I could barely recognize the word "exit" It is difficult for me to recognize Russian because the words are long and the words are also strange for me. I learned a little French but I think it is rather difficult compares to English. I don't want to mention Chinese because I know it may be the most difficult language in the world

If the question is what is the easiest to learn for Filipinos, I think Malaysian and Indonesian would be the easiest for us to learn because so many words are similar to Pilipino, perhaps even grammar might be similar cause its like related languages

Aside from English, a compulsory course I have to study from middle school to university, i find Japanese is a comparative easy foreign language for me to learn. Because there are many Chinese characters in its written language and I like watching Japanese anime which give me great interest to learn.

I have only learned English as a foreign language because it is our main subject at school. I used to learn some Japanese and German, but I did not learn these two languages well by myself. I find it much easier to learn languages from teachers instead of self-study. Now I am rethinking of studying Japanese because I work in the same office with Japanese teachers and Korean teachers. If I could speak Japanese or Korean, it would be much easier for communication.

I also taught some Koreans and Japanese students but never tried to learn their native tongue. I find it difficult. The school that I worked with doesn't allow us to learn the language and focus more on teaching these students the universal language, that is English.
