The USA is about to get a lot uglier

Just when you think things are ugly enough around here, there is more bad news and more ugliness on the way.
Regency Beauty Institute is closing shop, all 79 locations across the USA. Evidently, this came as a shock to all the students who have spent time and money learning all the tricks in the book that would make us all more beautiful.
Does this mean all of those potential 'beauty makers' will now turn to other professions? And who knows what will happen to the USA, after all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but ugly is skin deep.

I got to admit, the taxes in your country is ridiculously high that even applying for a visa form cost a hundred dollars 
.

They are many who are just barely surviving that's for sure. but not everyone is in that situation. Many of us live comfortably.

I am a bit surprised. I suppose that the students paid for their studies, and I see this shutdown with no warning like unfair. There is a beauty shop not far from my home, and I have noticed that the customers going there were for most of them in their 50s/60s. Young women have no or more limited make-up than in the past and they do not go in these shops. Maybe is it the end of something ?

Well, I"m old and I don't go every week, but I do go once/month for a haircut. I think the younger generation go more for the manicures etc.

@AbbyGreenhill Beautician and hairdresser are different jobs : the beauty shop near my home has no hairdresser, and my hairdresser has no beauty shop. Most of the time they are working in the same shop though, that they call "hairdressing and beauty salon".

They have to find out of their credits can be transferred to other schools.

I love the title..it is a shame the company has gone... I must admit I feel sorry for the students... I hope they don't loose out in this...
