No Longer Hopping

@marsha32 and I stayed up too late last night. I missed some sleep the night before and got tired dreaming I was someone else. I am no longer "hopping"--quilt shop hop that is, I am more likely dragging. I could tell I was headed downhill quickly when we left the second Wichita shop and I missed my turn off for the highway. I then stubbornly persisted in not turning around and going back and kept turning the wrong way for home. Wichita is not a super big city but it is big enough for me. Marsha calmly sat, working on her doll rug project. Never flinching when I went the wrong way. She used her GPS and we did make it home. My hubby had gotten us deli fried chicken, and potato salad. We ate it with Bush's baked beans. We may only have two more official stops tomorrow, but I also plan to hijack my friend and take her a couple more places.

I am needing some ten inch squares for a project I want to do. I have bought a fat quarter or two at each stop. Mostly paisley and floral.

She is doing well just buying what she is looking for. Me too for the most part, but that's only because I had such a limited amount of money to spend.

It's a good thing that your friend has a gps or you might have gotten loss on your way home.

It was handy out in the country. As far as finding our way back from the other large city, there are many ways to get back home, we would have found one. I have done this before, it did help though.

We would have eventually found our way, but she had already told me about the chicken and such for supper so I was anxious to get back for supper.

Maybe hijacking me depends on how tired you are...it's that long drive back home again for you once you get me back home.

Like I said, there is some kind of shop between Hutchinson and Newton that would be fun to visit. Maybe you should ditch your family for another break soon.

@marsha32 She had so much going for her in the one store that I really do not see why she would need a second one.

@GardenGerty I was told that Charlotte closed her second store, the discount one, so good thing we didn't make it that far.

It is fun to see all the creative things. I love color. I always liked seeing Marsha use every scrap.

Nice to get together for some in person time since she's moved now further away. Super nice of her to come and pick me up since my van has piston issues.

What, the quilt shops or the wrong turn or the "dragging". If it was not for car problems and family emergencies I would be back as good as gold.

We do. We met online in myLot and another group. I think it is at least seven years ago. Her youngest daughter was thirteen at the time.

With the other stuff beyond the shop hop that has happened, naps are not in my schedule. I am headed for a shower and bed, though.

I didn't realize that you lived in Kansas too and that you hang out with Marsha. That's really cool. It's best to drive only when you've had enough rest or sleep, though. Hope you got caught up on that before heading out again?

I hate turning around if I go wrong too but sometimes it's the quickest way to get back on track.

Yep, and I should have done it. On the other hand, we saw some public art work.
