Any Roller Skaters?

I was all over the internet last night looking up roller skates, helmets, and protective pads. I went by ratings and reviews for the best skates that would be in my budget and found a couple pairs of skates that looked to be great choices. I am just not sure if I should just buy a cheaper pair from walmart or pay the $110 that the really good reviewed pairs that were on amazon. Helmets and pads were different because I wasn't sure what I should be looking for and I know I am going to be falling a lot before I am good at skating. So I am reaching out to any roller skaters here on mylot. Do you know a brand in particular that are good for roller skates and/or helmets? Is there anything in specific that i should be looking for while searching for them? Any tips for when I finally get them and start practicing?
