overpampering v/s struggle

These days the concept of raising the kids has completely changed.... Compared to previous times now there are only 1or 2 kids in the family and each is given full and complete attention and their demands are fulfilled at utmost priority.... All that I feel is this is making the kids weak and dependant... Make them learn to earn what they want.. What do you believe in. Over pampering or preparing the kids to struggle for themselves....

@amitkokiladitya I do believe that if you pamper children too much or do so much for a child, they are more likely to grow up not learning how to be independent. May also be a bit ungrateful too if they are used to having everything done for them and not learning what work is.

There is probably a middle ground here somewhere but pampering children is not the best way to bring up strong adults.
