Jesse Rogers reports the news on Tuesday Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon told reporters on Tuesday during workouts he has selected left handed pitcher Jon Lester to start the first game of the National League Division Series that begins on Friday. The Cubs will be playing in a best of five series versus the winner of the National League Wild Card Playoff Game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets that will be played in New York City on Wednesday. Lester will be pitching in his sixth division series in his career since he has pitched four games with the Boston Red Sox and one with the Cubs last year. Maddon is having Lester pitch in the first game of the division series since he has the most experience on the Cubs pitching staff pitching in playoff games.
