I am work from home person since the last 6 years. While there are many benefits like flexibility, cut down on travel , increased productivity(supposedly!) , there are many disadvantages as well. Some of them being, becoming a social recluse, increase in laziness quotient and so on. Any body having my experience??? otherwise also what do you think????

Last 8 years or so, I have been a work from home person. But then, I have worked in normal environment. It requires some level of discipline.

I do SOME of my work from home--grading papers and exams, writing progress notes, restoring old loudspeakers. But most of the time I'm "out there." I'd become lonely and perhaps socially anxious if I worked from home only.

I would not like to only work from home. I do some of my work at home , writing mystery shop reports. What work do you do at home?

What exactly do you do? Could you please share more about your work? Perhaps, I may like to work like you in spite of the disadvantages.

Well, I work in a MNC but my team is located in another city . So, it gives me the flexibility to stay at home and do a normal day time job. I have a kid too. I cook my lunch during the "office" hours. All this becomes easy to handle only because I have a very helpful nanny. While working , I shut the door and continue in a "normal" environment. Then go out and interact with my kid and her nanny. But all this means that I dont have any social interaction and I have become a loner. so there are pros and cons of everything

Yes, I feel that I lack of disciplines sometimes, do what I like, and I will go out and find a regular job to do. Sometimes to ease my mind thinking at home will do me good.

I work from home. The advantage is I set my own hours, choose my work, and I'm the boss of me. The disadvantage is that the income earned is not a steady paycheck. I still have a social life.

I have not found a work from home job. I think a work from home job is good you don't have to spend money on commute. You can take breaks whenever you want and flexibility, freedom.
