Think positively

Think positively. What does it mean? I wonder how to apply it in every aspect of life. My Mom told me to always see the positive side of everything.
I don't get any idea of this 'wise' words. How come we see the positive side of a criminal (examples: a murderer, a rapist,etc)?
What's your thought about it?

i am not sure if how i think about a criminal is considered think positive about him/her.
the criminal may be forced to commit the crime due to circumstances like threat and fear. and we should not condemn anyone to the maximum just because of certain mistakes that they have done during a certain point of their lives. they may really want to change and turn over a new leaf, but due to the social stigma, they may feel depressed and hopeless and may commit another mistake again....

@Ayuriny i forgot to say it depends on what kind of crime...
hmmm...but most rapists are sick in the mind... they should seek proper medical treatment..

In my thinking, Your mom want to tell you that...You should take experience from your past or others past you see the ways others...and take good decisions after analyzing in your manner...Then you would reach towards perfectness and a good human being....By murderer....not take it positive but think...Why these happen in life...what uis the main reason behind the rape...why they happen...and after your analyzing...Generate your ways to overcome from it...to lessens the way...why they happen?

It depends on how you will look at the case. In the case of incidents for example you look at it from how the incident happened and the lesson one may get. if this happened to you, you may want to be more careful in the future rather than cursing the incident. Thereare many examples of positive thinking.
