So my neighbors they have this wire possibly power line on their terrace... A pigeon unfortunately go entangled...and is dangling with both wings entangled ..noticed it last evening... Sent the building watchman to them...even dad sent him once more THEY DID NOTHING... The bird is alive...so in all probability ..it is not a live wire... Help me how to go about saving this fighter... Should I go personally to talk to them? It is their terrace...I have no rights to go there..

There is no harm in letting them know about it.

I'm confused how does a pigeon get tangled on a wire? See them sitting on them but never saw one messed up .. oh one small bird fell down the water drain from the roof once had to break it open to let it out.

In India it isn't likely to come as soon as you call to any of the wild life agency. So better go and get permission from your neighbour to go into their terrace and rescue it.

If it's on the power lines. don't do anything. let it go. if it does fall down on ground then after few minutes you can touch it as it is grounded. you can use termeric or corn flour on bird wounds as it helps heal.

Last evening around five I noticed it, and I informed the watchman...he went and told the landlord there...dad again reminded him around 7.30 pm...the landlord said what can I do...to be fair, he is an elderly man...and the bird was at a height...we didn't know what it was holding it back. This morning our watchman actually saw the bird ...he sent his son to the office boys of that building (it has offices), and they went up pulled it down...kite string...it is alive...but what an agony it has withstood.

@vandana7 good to know that it is alive after this.. usually lack of food and fear gives them stroke.

I read the comments s I know the problem has been resolved and I think you did the best you could by getting the watchman to contact them.

I would think they know about the bird and have done something by now.

I would want to do SOMETHING. Can you confirm that the wires are not live? Is the bird within reach?

Will they let you get the bird out of the tangled mess. It might be worth it to set it free.

How about calling and complaining to an official NGOs who works for such animals? I know two-PETA and PAWS Its useful to have their numbers saved on phone..it maybe needed anytime as you mentioned above.
