Drilling a hole in the iPhone 7 - seriously, how ignorant can you be?

A couple of weeks ago, a prankster released a Youtube video showing how you can make a headphone jack for the iPhone 7: take a drilling machine and bore a hole in the lower-left side of the phone. The video was obviously a spoof, as it is visible that the hole doesn't serve any practical purpose: obviously without wiring any internal connections, the hole cannot do anything but accommodate physically the headphone connector, without providing any audio signal. However, it appears some people fell for the prank and thought they could get a headphone jack on their iPhone 7 device simply by drilling a hole in it. I cannot help of thinking: do they really have 0 critical thinking? Can people be that ignorant? Or would "plain stupid" be a more appropriate term?

most of the youtube users do a lot of worst things to their products online. i wonder why they do such spoofs.

I'm not sure why, but there are plenty of tests in which phones are abused on Youtube, like dropping the phone from different heights, or freezing it in Coke, or trying to scratch it with a chisel.

With some recent phones a hole would at least be somewhere for the smoke to escape...
