Hi,
Writing things down works best with everyday small things, and what I try to do myself is to always have pen and paper handy to write things down as soon as they spring to my mind. Otherwise, chances are high that I will forget them in a matter of minutes!
In this way, I help my brain’s short-term memory, which cannot store things for long. On the other hand, my long-term memory would not serve as a place to store everyday trivial things, as its role is to process information and store it in the long term.
So, yes, writing small things down can assist my memory!
