I would not want to live in my daughters´house when I´m older.

I have thought a lot about the years to come and as I get older, I feel that I have less time to plan on the next step of my life.
As many of you know, I´m planig to sell my big house and buy a small apartment. I will use whatever money is left to buy one or 2 very small apartments for rent to students.
What I don´t want is to be a burden to my children. I want to live on my own and have them visit me or invite me. But each one on its own.
How do you visialise your last years? Have you thought about them?

We have a family joke that when we get really, really old, our son gets me and our daughter gets my husband! Seriously, I hope to always be independent, but we never know.

I would not want them to have me. And I´m sure that, much as they love me, they would not want me at their houses either.

@1creekgirl I would not want to be a burden. So I think that if I find a way to provide for myself, it will be better.

do you plan on buying a two story apartment? my mother is now thankful we don't have stairs.

It's good to have a plan in place. I haven't thought about it yet, and I know the time is coming when I should.

I've always wanted living on my own. 30 years from now, I would still want to live on my own. Like you, I don't want to be a burden to anyone. I'm a big girls and big girls take care of themselves.
