dinner tonight -- hot dogs (plus cheesy polenta)

All of the stepkids are here for the weekend, so I've got a pretty full house right now. I needed a dinner that wouldn't need a lot of attention and would be popular with the kids. Hot dogs to the rescue! I was a bit torn as to what to serve on the side. Macaroni & cheese is a standard hot dog side, but I didn't have any gluten free mac & cheese on hand and didn't want to make something that my daughter couldn't eat. I looked online for some ideas and found a recipe for making cheesy polenta/grits in the rice cooker. This seemed like a good stand-in for mac & cheese and wouldn't require me standing over the stove and making cheese sauce from scratch, so we had that and sauteed spinach (or bagged salad for the spinach haters) on the side with the hot dogs.
