New discovery: Internet TV is the wave of the future. Having my Roku 2, was the best choice I ever made. Periodically...I like scrolling through the channel apps to see what new channels get added, and then within the apps, I will browse a few to see what new TV shows, and/or movies get added. Today... As I was scrolling through an app called FilmRise, I found something new they added. Now a lot of apps that are free, don't always offer many "blockbuster" and/or "popular" shows/movies...but on an occasion, one can find something really good...and today was one of those days. It has Forensic Files, and FBI Files, and a few other good shows/movies, but not too many popular sitcoms. However, today I saw where they uploaded the entire 5 seasons of Highway To Heaven. I love this show. The only thing I don't like about this app, is they go to a commercial in the middle of a sentence, rather than waiting for a break inbetween conversations or something. They will repeat the sentence again, when it comes back from the commercial, but it is a little irritating. I have the first season on DVD, but was wanting to watch all 5 seasons. The final season only had 13 episodes, because the network cancelled the show in mid-season. Which in some ways was a good thing, since Victor French (who played Jonathan Smith's sidekick Mark Gordon) passed away, just weeks prior to the showing of the final episodes of the last season. Michael Landon really produced some great family shows, and had a lot of talent in his profession. I was hoping that Netflix or Hulu would carry it, but haven't yet. I even hoped Crackle would carry it, and they haven't yet either. But here...some off-the-wall TV network app is now showing it. I have found that it always pays to do a search from time to time, within these less popular apps. They are known to surprise you, and offer great entertainment to watch, and do it all for free! So...in light of this... I changed my TV venue a little bit today. I am watching some Highway to Heaven, then later tonight I will catch up on some CSI Miami, and maybe some Golden Girls.
