We're almost at the midway point in my Favorite "Lie" Songs series, and we're at #5: "Liar" by Rollins Band. Led by punk rock legend Henry Rollins, Rollins Band formed in 1987 in Van Nuys, California. Rollins is best known as the former singer for Black Flag. The band was considered more of an alternative metal act than a punk band. While there have been a few lineup changes, with musicians doing multiple stints in the band, Rollins has been the only constant full-time member. (Fun Fact: in addition to his spoken word gigs, Rollins is also the host of the cable television show 10 Things You Didn't Know About.) "Liar" was a single from the 1994 album Weight. It's a hard rocker with a jazz influence, and was released as a single, reaching #9 on Billboard Magazine's Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. It also recieved regular airplay on MTV's 120 Minutes. It is, according to Wikipedia, the Rollins Band's only charting single to date. Wikipedia again: Henry Rollins stated in a BBC interview that "Liar" was originally intended to be a B-Side. It was also named, by VH1, the 64th greatest hard rock song of all-time. Enjoy!

It wasn't really a big hit unless you were listening to alternative music in the 90's.

Henry Rollins is a local legend here in the LA area. I met him at a travel show several years ago where he gave a talk. Really nice guy.

@teamfreak16 Rollins is quite the world traveler so that's what he talked about. Not the punk wild man you envision from Black Flag. An educated man wearing a business suit.

Other than You Tube, the only place I've ever seen it is on MTV.
