Last week , just when the birthday celebration of my lady boss 2 year old daughter , was about to end , one of the mascots of McDonalds came in .
The children were amazed at her specially when she danced . After that was picture taking with her .
However , the little boy of my officemate again didn’t want to go in front to have a picture taken with the mascot . Her mother keeps cajoling him to join but he doesn’t like.
After the picture taking , the mascot marched out . The little boy suddenly grabbed her mother who was standing near him and covered himself from the mascot as it passed .
So, that’s why he remained seated. He was actually afraid of the mascot .
Yet , the little girl of my boss keeps holding the hand of the mascot .
My daughter too when she was a kid wasn’t also afraid of any mascot .
What about your kids or nephews ?

@magallon But this little boy didn't really want to go near the mascot despite her mother and my prodding . He simply sat on the table and when he saw that the mascot is about to pass by him to finally go out of the venue , he pulled his mother to hid himself .
Her mother and i just winked at each other when we realized he was after all afraid . I really don't know if it is his first time .

I don't think I was afraid of mascots, clowns or any such thing. But I wasn't interested either. The world for me was limited to my parents...

@crazyhorseladycx I guess that's understandable because Santa is so big and children gets scared of big people .

I know he will get over it . It's maybe because the big is so big while he is so small that why he was so scared .

I , my siblings and my cousins were not afraid of them or even the clowns. But my youngest cousin, she was around 5 or 6 years old when she first came face to face with a clown at a wedding party. She wouldn't stop crying and would keep hiding behind her mother!
The man wearing the clown costume was bewildered. I guess it was the first time it happened to him. He tried to be nice and smiled sweetly. HA! With all that make up.....looked more creepy. Obviously didn't help the situation. So, with an apologetic smile to us he left and made sure to stay away from my cousin rest of the night to not scare her again.

My daughter too isn't afraid of those mascots and clowns when she was small.
Actually , there are just a small percentage of children afraid of them , i think . Most of the kids at the party were so happy seeing the mascot .
Sad that your youngest cousin was scared of the clown . Yes, i have seen children afraid of clowns like the son of my lady boss during his 1st birthday party .

I think it's normal for some kids to be afraid of mascots. Probably because of how they looked. Some are not too appealing, I guess.

Yes, we should not force children to do things what they don't want to do . They know how they feel too .
