I woke up with a headache.

Since I came back from the dentist, I have been with a headache and an ache where the dentist drilled. I will take something for it. But I don´t know what to do when this happens. The dentist did not tell me it would hurt and did not give me anything to get rid of this pain. It makes me wonder if I should go to another dentist. What would you do?

I would try to remedy the situation myself with something I have on hand in the house, but if the pain is especially intense, you could call your dentist and ask for a prescription for a day or so. Did you get a filling or something else? Maybe your teeth are hitting in a place that it wasn't before and that's causing the headaches? That's happened to me before. If that's the case you need to resituate how your mouth sits, or how your teeth sit in your mouth. Otherwise, tylenol, ibuprophen, or an RX may be what's needed.

@marguicha If you don't get full relief within a few hours, then it wouldn't hurt to contact your dentist to see what they might recommend. THey may know whether they were closer to a nerve than expected and that could be what's causing your headache. Some dentists would warn of pain, others don't always think about it. That wouldn't be a reason to find another dentist, necessarily since a new person may not warn you any more than the currentl one did.

Sorry. Maybe better try another dentist next time. But for now maybe you can call that dentist and let him/her know?

I´ll call him. The problem about seeing him soon is that there are holidays coming.

Is the headache caused by the headache? Like maybe cause our nerves are linked and it somewhat affected? I would check with the dentist whether its normal and probably take painkillers to ease the pain. Hope you get better soon

I'm sorry to hear about your headache. It's not pleasant to deal with. I find that Advil helps. I hope your pain goes away.

I usually press a 'clove' in between my aching tooth and get rid of the pain. I would suggest you to try it.
