Have you ever revisited a place that brings bad memories?

When I was little I use to stay with my aunt when my parents would go to work and she use to hit me for literally everything I did. She would hit me if I didn't want to eat, if I didn't flush the bathroom, if I spilled something on the floor accidentally I was beaten for anything you can think of. A few days ago I went to my friends new apartment and she happens to live next to the old apartment my aunt use to live. I remember looking at aunts old door and it brought back horrible memories of when she use would beat me. It seems like the building still has the same smell from back when I was little. I am suppose to see my friend again tomorrow, but I don't plan on ever going back. I will have her come downstairs because It just gets me angry going in that floor. Have you ever had any bad memories when entering or even passing by a place where something bad happened to you?

Tell your friend to meet you at a coffee house. I would not go to a place with such bad vibes.

Yes I think I should meet her far away from this apartment.

@Judy890 i was going to suggest the same thing. there must be a pleasant middle spot that's convenient to go to for both you and your friend.

When ever I exercise walk in the neighborhood I always see this house of my once JS prom partner who is in canada now I think. It reminded me how stupid and immature I was dealing with her and how I made her uncomfortable, If i get to see her again, I would apologize.

That would be so nice. You seem like a very kind person, some people don't even think about their mistakes. I have seen a few of the guys they hurt me and one of them once had a smirk on his face like It was funny what he had done to me in the past.

There are thoughts of the sad past to comes to the mind of many, and straightway they still feel the pain and depression it cost them fresh, reasons be that they didn't handle the issue when they ought to. You don't cover wounds up and assume they are healed, no! You expose wounds, treat it, and ensure it is healed. When we ensure the healing of whatever we might have been through, when they come in our minds as memories, we don't feel pained, instead we sometimes smile or laugh over it; you know why? They were healed!

I get what you're saying. I think the only way to over come this anger is to go in that apartment, but it's not easy.

It might be that you'd better go inside. Just think about it and ask yourself whether this will help you to process it. Remember that you are a different person today, do not get attached to your sorrow.

I feel like if I continue going to this apartment I may see her and say something Real evil to her.
