Need transmission help

Can I use another cars transmission or another year for a 93 Ford Escort LX?

If you have an 2000 cmc engine for example and your car`s year is 90 . If that kind of engine was produced until 99 it is no problem . Or if you transmision is the same with the transmision from that car is no problem. Only thing you need to know is that the transmision must fit in. Good luck !
