When is too early for a Christmas tree?

We got ours (a corner tree that is artificial and only has three fourths of the tree itself) for a dollar at a thrift shop, it is about 6 feet tall and lovely. It is already put together and in the corner of which it will stay, but not decorated. With this being our first christmas as a family and not just bf/gf we decided to do a tree for our young one. We need decorations though, and they will probably either be coming from a thrift shop (hopefully) or I will use my earnings from all my survey sites and my mturk account to be buying them and getting them expedited here! What do y'all think? when do you put yours up?

We usually put ours up right after Thanksgiving. =) I think whenever you want to is good. Our house is small so a tree would take up too much room to keep up for too long.

we have a relatively large living/dining area, it is an open layout so it looks really big, and we got a corner tree so it doesnt take up a whole lot of room! LOVE IT! lol

We've bought an artificial tree some years ago so we use the same one every year. As we love the lights and the Christmas feelings, we usually start to decorate it at the beginning of December.

that is the one amazing thing about the artificial trees! you only have to buy one as long as you keep up with all the pieces!! And my family generally waits until the day after thanksgiving, we only put this one together to ensure all the pieces were there!

I think one should at least wait until after Thanksgiving to start in on the Christmas routine.

completely agree but with all the pretty decorations that are already on display it is so tempting to just buy them and decorate the tree! With this being our daughters first Christmas it really is tempting, she missed last christmas by a mere 6 days!

We never put up are Christmas stuff until AFTER Thanksgiving. Normally on Black Friday. There is no need to rush from Halloween to Christmas when there is another holiday in-between them. Putting up the tree and decorations doesn't make Christmas get here any faster and you still have to wait a month before you can actually celebrate the holiday.

completely agree, we usually wait till the day after thanksgiving, but since we bought our tree at a thrift store for a buck we wanted to make sure it was all there! AND we are too lazy to take it back down and put it back together later lol!!

I usually start mine the 1st of December but I would say anytime after Thanksgiving would be a good time.

@klr1993 lol oh well at least it will be there when it is time to decorate. My dragster puts her tree up and decorates it the middle of November.
