Do you find some famous books are boring for you? / myLot

Some books are very famous. However, after I read them, I couldn't understand why they were so famous. I even found that it was boring. Such as the book The Old Man and The Sea. The story is simple and also the character is an old man who is less attractive for me. Especially the ending is with the fish bone only. I felt disappointed to it.

Old man and the sea is something I actually do enjoy but one book I cannot stand and I have had to read it three times because of school is The Giver. Goodness sakes that book is just ahhh there is no words with how terrible that book is haha

@coffeebreakwhatever In fact The Old Man and The Sea is not the most boring famous book. I think The Red and The Black can win it easily in this aspect

@youless Just because a book is famous does not mean it isn't boring or great. A bunch of literary critics and teachers decides if a book is "great" with no thought to entertainment.

I have actually never been able to finish reading the Great Expectations book by Charles Dickens for the same reason. I start...i get bored...i stop...it is a infinite loop of the same. I don't know when i will be able to finish that story.
