R.I.P. Leonard Cohen

And so, 2016 takes another, this time highly influential singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen. The artist was 82 years old.
Cohen had a distinctive croon, and it's difficult to find a band or artist that, at some point, doesn't cite him as an influence.
Cohen was great, and has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was also a multiple Juno Award winner, and was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement.
He will be missed.

Another major musical name passes this year. This is the roughest year for music loss I can remember. Don't forget Cohen was also a poet.

Yep. Another music legend has departed in 2016. He was 82 and his departure is not so much of a surprise. But the other ones like Prince and David Bowie caught me off guard.

They were two of my favorites, and I wasn't expecting either of them. Prince surprised me the most.

I heard this news just an hour or so ago. He wasn't the greatest singer but he was sure influential. At 82, he couldn't be considered that old either. RIP.
