1 John 2:15-16Common English Bible (CEB) 15 Don’t love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them. 16 Everything that is in the world—the craving for whatever the body feels, the craving for whatever the eyes see and the arrogant pride in one’s possessions—is not of the Father but is of the world. This is a thought provoking passage. It is a sobering reminder to us not to love the trappings of this world. How does this passage apply to your life?

I think the message the passage wants to put across is that we should put God above all earthly things such as craving or lusting, Pride and arrogance in possessions. All of these cravings and possessions could lead to sin and in the long run could lead to greed and more greed.

looks like a good exmaple of not being attached with materialism.
