Soap The other day after watching The Walking Dead on there I noticed an old TV show which I remember watching back in the later 70’s. or was it the early 80’s not sure now, but it was some years ago. Oh, I am showing my age lol. Basically, it’s about two sisters and their families. I’m so glad I’ve come across it and I’ve watched 5 episodes of the first season. Sadly there are only 4 seasons. Have you ever seen Soap, maybe it was never in your country?

@kevin1877uk It was a funny show. And Benson was a spin off show from Soap. They were good.

Soap was brilliant, an unmissable spoof on American daytime soap operas. It was shown late on Friday nights on ITV in the UK until it got cancelled in 1981 (I read an interview with one of its stars, Katherine Helmond, who blamed the 'Moral Majority' in the US for its demise). As well as Billy Crystal, the show produced a number of other big stars, such as the late Richard Mulligan. The best character in it for me was the butler Benson. There was a spin-off Benson series but unfortunately they really toned down the character's spikiness that made him so funny in Soap. Soap was a great show that I am glad we got to see in the UK. I still often think about funny scenes from it.

I couldn't have been that old (maybe 12) and my mum letting me stay up to watch it, but I do remember how funny it is and I'm so glad I came across the show. Watching it on HDTVshows. Yes, Bensons is the funny one, he does make me laugh so much, awesome. I don't think I ever saw the Bensons show, maybe I did but I can't remember it.
