A very clever take on the zombie horror story set in London in the years following the death of Queen Victoria, hence its Edwardians become The Deadwardians.
Zombies are everywhere and there is only one guaranteed escape – becoming a vampire instead. The zombies can’t smell vampires who are virtually invisible to them, and immune to zombie bites.
But someone human is killing vampires, and without using stakes, decapitation or incineration. Morose forever young Inspector Suttle is assigned to find out who and why. His search will take him into the Edwardian underground of prostitutes and Marxist pickets eager to blame the undeath-choices on the rich. His search will uncover deadly sorcery and a terrible truth about the zombie origins.
Very clever inventive story telling. I hope Suttle gets more cases to investigate in this well realized alternative history.

@Jessicalynnt they have more control over their urges and mostly feed off animals - there are humans still alive between the two factions too
