Favorite Movie Last Night

For some time I've been wanting to watch a movie I hadn't seen in a number of years. Well last night was my night. With notifications done at a reasonable time, I went to the television and though I was late finding it, I saw most of the movie.
From the first time I saw Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, it's been a favorite. This black and white film features Jimmy Stewart in the leading role, Claude Rains, and Harry Carry. Jean Arthur plays Saunders, Jefferson Smith's able secretary, and Thomas Mitchell plays Diz, a reporter.
It was on Turner Classic, so it was without commercials which would have detracted immensely from this wonderful film.
If you have never seen this movie, I hope you will give it a watch the next time it comes available.

I'm sure my husband has seen it before as he loves the classics too. I watched one recently since we were having our cable tv turned off and one was saved from last year. It was 27 dresses. I wanted to watch it a second time but it was too late already. If you like new movies, that's a good one too and of a similar vein to 'how to lose a guy in 10 days' if you ever saw that one.

I recall this movie. One of Stewart's better ones and Jean Arthur was so cute. I always enjoy Claude Rain's voice.

@inertia4 I don't have that problem because I've been wanting to watch the movie for a long time, not just the one that was on a couple nights ago, but any movie I want to see and it isn't available on Netflix and I just need to wait until I see it available.

He's a top actor. I haven't seen a movie with him in it I didn't like.
