you are not alone on that note. i have read a lot of books already, and funny is that because i do not remember the title of the book, i sometimes read it again and remembers that i have already read it.

I never remember the author name or book names I have trouble remembering names itself.. But I remember stories

I love to read as well I have read 83 books so far this year slmost to 84 going for 100 books by end of the year.

I like reading myself so I really know what that's about but it's the knowing that you have read a good book, and not only that but a great one no matter how many,

When I read a book, I only rest with the content, the history and, many times, only with a special idea took out of its lecture. Years ago, I tried ones to take a notebook and to write down the authors and books name and under it a short summary about three or four lines to remember what the novel was about. But, I stopped to do so very soon as I wondered myself, when would I read my notes again!?

My habit not so much remembering the books I've read but to write down the book title and author in a small note book.....and tick off when you read it, started this 2 years ago. Give it a whirl
