How Do You Like To Eat Meat?

I only eat steak , hamburger and fish like Salmon, Well Done. I can't stand to have any kind of pink in the center. My husband and son make fun of me because they like to eat their meats Medium Rare or Rare. I just get so grossed out when I see them eating it like that. Another thing that grosses me out is when I am at a buffet in some restaurant and they are serving Prime Rib and it has a pink look. My husband says that because it has been slow cooked, it will have that pink look but that it is cooked. I still don't like the looks of it. I will always pass on getting Prime Rib at Buffets. So, how do you like to eat your meat cooked for those who eat meat?

Prime Rib is SUPPOSED to be pink in the middle your husband is correct. One thing we have learned living in the south, good prime rib is not easy to find. But to overcook prime rib is killing good meat. When I didn't know better I ate beef well done, but with experience med-well is far better. Hamburger is the only exception that should be well done. If you want well-done prime rib ask for the end cut.

It depends on the meat. I like medium thick steaks once in a while. With the fat. Chicken, pork and turkey have to be fully cooked. But I can eat raw fish as in the japanese hashimi. And we have a dish that we cook with just lemon: cebiche.

About the Prime Rib your husband is right, it has that color because of the very slow cooking, but it's well done. I like my red meat rear, all the white meat well done, salmon well done, tuna, medium rear.

You mention eating Tuna medium rare. I have seen professional chefs on the Food Network take perfect looking Tuna and hardly cook it and then present it and say how good it looks. I always tell my husband how Tuna should be cooked more. He says he would try it the way they prepare it.

@LeaPea2417 My husband wants the tuna almost not cooked at all. Of course if I make sushi I use raw tuna.

That is good. Sometimes, I think about going more Vegetarian. I don't think I could go totally that way because I like to eat eggs and cheese.

@LeaPea2417 eggs r totally good. Milk, cheese too thats what I eat all the time. It contains lots of proteins and keep you good. So eggs, milk, vegetables and fruit r my choice. I eat meat but only sometimes.

I was raised eating burnt meat. Lol! My mother wasn't the best of cooks. I've slowly left the well done stage and now eat my beef medium. However, fish pork, turkey, and chicken must be thoroughly cooked or I won't touch it. I do eat sushi.

I like it to be tender, so that usually means still a little pink in the middle

medium rare is good for me. As far as I'm concerned, you'd might as well throw away a well done steak or hamburger.

That is how my husband thinks. He thinks it is ruined if it is well done.

I don't eat a lot of meat, or poultry or fish. When I was younger I did, but for some reason not so much these days

Medium-rare steak does me - dunno how people can eat a "blue" steak.

I like a nice pink tinge but many of my friends like their meat well-cooked. It's lucky really that everyone is different.
