Balut is an exotic food here in the Philippines. Its a fertilized duck or chicken egg with a nearly developed embryo that is boiled and eaten on the egg, you can spice it up with salt or some prefer chili and vinegar to complement their egg. It is basically a famous street food here. Balut is now being served as appetizers in restaurants; cooked adobo style, fried in omelettes or even used as filling in baked pastries. Usually serve hot and fresh pair it up with a beer and yum!!!
