Naked French onion soup

We are out to lunch. I decided that I wanted a little something more than just my usual salad with salmon, so I ordered French onion soup. The problem is that I had to order it without the best parts due to my diet--the bread and the cheese.
So I just had a bowl of broth and onions. And it was delicious!

Cheese is optional, but we put garlic on the bread, and I would miss something without the bread in an onion soup. If it was a French restaurant, you should look if they had a chicken soup, it is usually an onion soup with chicken, but without bread and cheese, and better than what you got.

French onion soup is my favorite & darn minus the good part (bread + cheese) but you're sticking to your healthy diet right now which is great!!

It has such a long flavour so even with the broth and onions it would still have plenty of flavour.
